For the past twenty four (27) years, Mr Tlhabane has worked within government, NGO and Business environments assuming various positions of leadership. Since 1993 to date, he has worked at middle, senior and executive management levels. He has served in various strategic committees including the interprovincial committee on MST, the Tender and Procurement Committee, Bid Evaluation Committees, CEOs Committee the National Science Week Committee and the National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) located within the Department of Science and Technology. Decisions made at these committees were critical in advising the Heads of Departments and the Minister of Basic Education and the Minister of Science and Technology. He has had the privilege of turning around several institutions, schools, government sub-directorate, NGO’s, from levels of under-performance to high performing institutions. He has the experience of developing and maintaining business relationships with a wide range of agencies and organisations within the civil, private and public sectors as well as people from varying multicultural backgrounds.
He has occupied the following positions in government, NGO and private sector: Mathematics Teacher, Head of Department, Deputy Principal, School Principal, Chief Education Specialist, Chief Executives Officer and now Acting Chief Director with the Department of Basic Education.
